What Search Console is for, and how often it needs attention

Search Console shows crawling, indexing, and the queries and pages that bring people from Google. It is a monthly check, not a daily dashboard.

Based on Google's Get started with Search Console

Search Console is Google’s tool for anyone with a site who wants to see how that site is doing in Search and what might bring more relevant visits. It reports how Google crawls, indexes, and serves the site. You do not need to sign in every day. Google emails when it finds new issues. A reasonable rhythm, in Google’s words, is about once a month, and again when the content changes, to confirm the data still looks stable.

Reports that matter for a business owner

Manual actions tell you if Google has limited the site because of a policy issue. Removals can hide a URL for about six months while you fix or delete it for good. Change of address helps when a site moves to a new domain. Rich result reports show whether structured data could be read. For the people building the site, index coverage and URL Inspection explain a single page: is it indexed, what did Google see, and can you ask for a recrawl. Security issues flag hacking or harmful behavior. Core Web Vitals shows real-world speed and stability.

The performance report is the one we return to most often. It is where “people are searching for this, and this page is the one Google shows” becomes visible. Indexing problems matter when a page you rely on is missing. The rest of the tool is there when something specific breaks — a move, a manual action, broken structured data — not as a pile of tasks to perform on a schedule.

Paraline monitors Search Console because it is Google’s own account of your search visibility. Recommendations start from those queries, pages, and indexing states, then get checked against what Analytics says happened after the click.
